The End, Some New, Some Old.

Just like everyone else, I’m still processing the events surrounding the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, and to be honest, I’m not comfortable with sharing my public opinion yet, but when I am, you’ll know it, I’m certain.
The semester ended, and this semester was a good one, all in all. Grades were okay, and professors were some of the best I’ve ever had. For the last four weeks of it, though, I fell twice. The last fall I had at the very end of November resulted in the worst fall I’ve ever had, most likely, and one of my only ones to ever result in serious injury. What was thought to be severe contusions to my left, dominant, and only functional hand has been confirmed as a “radiocarpal sprain”, which just means that it’ll be pretty painful for a few more weeks. Obviously, I’m working on using it because I’m typing and doing most things for myself, but while I’m at home for a little while, I’m taking advantage of having a little bit of extra time to rest my poor joints.
In “new” news, even though I’ll have my internship next semester, I’m hoping to kick back up my contributions to blogging outlets. While we’re on the subject, there’s a new project launching soon run by Amber Naslund called the Mind:Share Project. Our aim is to bring real life and light to mental illness, and I’ve told her that I will contribute to the blog. My journey is still pretty new and thankfully, my symptoms are really mild, but for some, that’s not exactly the case. Join us over on Facebook and Twitter to connect in advance of the launch and to be apart of the movement that will surely result from the project. Connections like this one through social media are what make it all worth it for me. It helps to know that there are others with the same or similar struggles, and it’s refreshing to see that there are people who are willing to voluntarily promote vitally important causes.
In the next few days, I’ll be writing a couple of posts that you won’t want to miss. They’ll outline some new discoveries I’ve made in relation to cerebral palsy, the future, and the up and down year known as 2012. For now, though, I’m more than happy to be back in the social media sphere, and as always, if you have any questions, you can always find me on Facebook, Twitter, or you are always welcome to email me. While you’re at it, why don’t you join the Healthy, Unwealthy, and Becoming Wise Facebook page? I’ve seen how successful Facebook pages have been as a means of communication between my favorite vloggers and bloggers and their audiences, and I’d like to be able to share quick snippets of information with you there. If you’re interested, I’d love to have you there.
Until the next post that will be live this week, here’s to a wonderful end to 2012 and a blissful beginning to 2013!
